I was very attracting to the one of Japan’s culture that is geisha. Maybe some of us have already known about this, but I’m very sure all of you except Japanese know everything about geisha. Before I would like to peel off the geisha storyline even deeper, I would like give the meaning of GEISHA….
A geisha is a traditional Japanese entertainer or performing artist that often confused with Westerners as prostitute. However, the true geisha do not engage in paid sex with clients. Their purpose is to entertain their customer, be it by dancing, reciting verse, playing musical instruments, engaging in light conversation and make the client relex. In simple word, geisha is just like singer or entertainer. Basically, they always wearing kimono to entertain clients. The color of the kimono depends on the season and the event the geisha is attending. The traditional makeup of an apprentice geisha features a thick white base with red lipstick and red and black accents around the eyes and eyebrows. They will put the rice powder to make their face looks white and beautiful. Geisha is very interesting until one movie (Memoirs of a Geisha) is produce to promote geisha to the world.
